Director Darren Aronofsky Picks At The Scab Of Addiction Once Again In Disturbing New Anti-Meth Campaign

Just when you thought it was safe to watch another PSA, along comes an anti-meth campaign that makes Requiem For A Dream look like a date movie.
We have been here before, of course. There was a time when it seemed just about every public service advertisement was designed to shock you to your core.
But then advertisers woke up. They realised the scare tactics did not work in the fight against such problems as speeding or drug addiction, and instead they spoke to young adults on their level. This clever new drink driving campaign from New Zealand is a perfect example.
Well, that's what we thought anyway. Yep, thanks to agency Organic Inc. and their new, quite disturbing anti-meth campaign, it seems shock tactics are back - and in a big way. Take a look for yourself below, if you can stomach it.
There are four ads to watch, all looking at four equally grim stories of people gripped by meth addiction. However, be warned: some of the content is quite disturbing.
But then, I guess, that is what you get when you hire Requiem helmer Darren Aronofsky to direct your ads.
Clearly the award-winning director has not finished picking at the scab of addiction quite yet.
Whether or not this tactic actually works, well, time will only tell. The problem is very few people who watch these ads actually believe it could happen to them.
While for those who are addicted, it's already too late.
