Android 3.0 Honeycomb Brings Buzz To Consumer Electrics Show

Google made a shock appearance at the Verizon's Consumer Electronics Show yesterday to show off their new Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system.

Details of the highly-anticipated Honeycomb, built entirely for tablets, has so far been vague. Google released a 93-second demo of their revolutionary new OS on Wednesday and it has been steadily rising up the Viral Video Chart over the last few days.

However, yesterday Google provided a 10-minute live demo of Android 3.0 in action on the Motorola Xoom tablet, which was filmed by ZDNet's Jason Hiner (above).

Angry Birds To Waste Even More Of Your Time Than It Should

Just in case you have not wasted enough of your life playing Angry Birds, here is a video dedicated to explaining the reason for their conflict with the Evil Pigs.

Apparently, the fact they are evil and swinish and that they nick their eggs is not reason enough, but still.

Like the game itself, which is the most popular game on the iPhone and hugely popular on the Android, the two-and-a-half minute video has gone viral.

It is currently doing well in the Viral Video Chart and as I write has attracted over 22,000 shares on Facebook, Twitter and the blogosphere in the last 24 hours.

It is also not suitable for work due to some ‘fowl’ language from the birds, in particular.

In the video, the two sides sit across the negotiating table to try and end a war ‘which has cost millions of innocent people their ability to concentrate at work’.

Originally created by Israeli comedy show Erez Nehederet, the video proved that much of a hit they made an English version.

And it has certainly gone down a storm on the web. Personally, it’s two and a half minutes I will never get back.

In fact, the only mild curiosity for me was whether the guy in the middle moderating was Antoine De Caunes n a wig. It wasn't. So disappointed.

iPhone 4, Android Or Windows Phone 7: Which Grills The Fastest?

Ever wondered which smartphone cooks the quickest? No, it's not exactly been giving me sleepless nights either.

But that’s the ridiculous premise cooked up (get it?) in a new ad campaign by EZGrill designed to flog its disposable barbecue.

Forget which between an iPhone 4, an Android G2 or a Windows Phone 7 offers the best value for money or the coolest features, what we really want to know is: Which grills the fastest?

The video is already taking the web by storm and has been climbing the Viral Video Chart over the last few days.

And it’s not hard to see why. It obviously borrows heavily from the Will It Blend meme, while also satisfying our ‘slightly destructive, just as long as it’s not my phone’ urges.

In fact, I dare you to not click on the video to find out which phone gives up the ghost the quickest on the £5 grill. Watching them burn is strangely compelling.

Plus, latching itself on to the exponential growth of smartphones web searches is a very ‘smart’ move.

I'll be honest though, I hope this kind of lame advertising goes up in smoke pretty soon.
