Top 10 #FIFA Re-enactments Of Famous Football Incidents

There are moments in football history that will never fade from memory.

Gazza's goal in Euro '96, Nelinho's special strike against Scotland, Chris Waddle's penalty miss in 1990. They are all special glimpses of the Beautiful Game that any self-respecting soccer fan can recall at a moment's notice.

But for some fans that is not enough. For some fans, the only way to pay tribute is to imitate them.

Now, that is easier said than done. Anyone who can replicate Van Basten's volley against USSR in 1988 or David Platt's extra-time winner against Belgium in 1990 should not be practising on a park pitch - they should be playing professionally.

So thank God we have football videogames like FIFA, which allows us to re-enact every kick, every header and every celebration of our favourite footballing moments from the comfort of our sofas.

So to celebrate the launch of the most highly-anticipated videogame this year, FIFA 12, we have compiled our 10 favourite re-enactment moments as performed on FIFA

There are some amazing goals, misses and bloopers below, but is your favourite in there?

Trick Shot Prince Of Quarterbacks About To Be Overthrown

If you were impressed by UConn quarterback Johnny Mac, then Alex Tanney is going to blow your mind.

Not long ago Meme Machine editor David Waterhouse put up a post on The Trick Shot Prince Of Quarterbacks, but from the looks of it there seems to be another trick shot quarterback looking to seize the throne.

Alex Tanney, the quarterback at Monmouth College, Illinois, proves that you don’t have to play at a Division I school in order to excel.

In fact, Tanney plays for a Division III school. And, while there usually are differences in terms of facilities and the overall quality of the programme, Tanney proves the Fighting Scots are the exception to the rule.

Want To Watch The Trick Shot Prince Of Quarterbacks?

Ever wondered if you could throw an American football into a bin from a stairwell 50 metres away?

Or whether you could open a fire door from several paces back through the cunning use of a ball?

No, neither have we, but Connecticut quarterback Johnny McEntee has compiled a video of him doing just that - and it has gone viral.

And, well, it's pretty impressive what you can do with just a ball and an incredibly accurate throwing arm.

Outrageous Driscoll Middle School Trick Play: But Was It Legal?

Playing sport at school can be a sometimes very uncomfortable experience.

Many a sporting dream has perished upon the brutal and unforgiving mud of the school playing fields.

But if you thought dealing with sadistic sports teachers and playing in your underpants was bad, spare a thought for these poor junior high American footballers, as they are forced to look like complete idiots by an outrageous play from a rival school's cocky quarterback.

While I would love to lavish praise on the quick thinking of Old Driscoll Middle School's playmaker, I can't help but feel sorry for his opponents, who are left standing like idiots when his 'pretending-the-ball-is-not-active' move works a treat on his dumbfounded rivals.

But then there is always somebody who knows the rules better than you.
