New Creepy Ad From Travel Comparison Site Will Haunt Your Dreams For A Fortnight

This new advert from travel comparison website Kayak is a real eye-opener.

Created by agency Barton F. Graf 9000, it features possibly one of the creepiest characters ever to appear in a commercial (Burger King's king mascot is obviously at the top).

Let's call him 'Mr Pupils'. Why? Well, firstly, because that is what a lot of other bloggers who have written about the campaign have called him.

Secondly, because he has 'got his pupils dilated' (so he does not miss any great holiday deals), we cannot think of a more apt name.

What a dope!! As his wife points out in the ad, he does not need to go to extreme measures to be able to see the best holiday deals, he only needs to visit Kayak. Plus, anyone who thinks having their pupils dilated would help them see better has bigger problems.

Not that that stops him from trying to have the last laugh on his other half.

The ad has only racked up just over 20,000 views so far, but we are expecting it to do a lot better.

Top 5 Hunger Games Parodies

There's no escaping The Hunger Games. The film has been intensively talked about online by its teenage fans, and is now grabbing the attention of everyone else.

The film, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hawthorne, is the post-apocalyptic tale of teens forced to duel in a televised fight to the death. It has smashed box office records, bringing in over $214 million dollars in its first weekend - the third biggest in movie history.

The movie's success has sparked an army of imitators. In fact, fan tributes, parodies and music videos cooked up by those hungry for more of The Hunger Games were appearing online before the film was even released.

Some of these parodies are the simplest of fan films, while others feature some more famous furry faces. Here's our favourite Top 5 Hunger Games Parodies.

Happy Birthday Twitter: Top 6 Most Shared Twitter Ads

Twitter may be known throughout the world and even merited inclusion in the Oxford English Dictionary, but that doesn't mean they don't need to advertise once in a while. We've had a look at the most popular ads of Twitter's 6 years so far.

With an idea as revolutionary as the 140-word microblog, Twitter took some explaining before the world really got what it was all about.

Once the world started tweeting, ads came out to tell us how to tweet pictures, watch videos, find new music and even introduce our mums to Twitter.

Some of the ads focus on specific features of the service, but they all stop to look at how Twitter can be used to keep you in touch with the things that interest you and the ones you love.

Here are the top 6 most popular Twitter ads of all time.

Interactive Infographic From The Video Super Power That Is - YouTube

The video creatives over at YouTube have made a stunningly interactive infographic for us all to enjoy.

The interactive visualisation looks into what defined YouTube last year, 2011.

Scaling from left to right, (January to December), YouTube delves into what was trending on its platform throughout the year.

You'll see plenty of familiar faces on the timeline, including Charlie Sheen, Nyan Cat, Ray William Johnson and even the late Steve Jobs

YouTube has come a long way in its relatively short life. Let's not forget the first ever video was posted to the site back in 2005. Oh, how things have changed over the past 7 years.

As of February 2011, YouTube had 490 million unique users worldwide per month, who racked up an estimated 92 billion page views each month. These colossal stats are just for the main YouTube website — they don’t incorporate embedded videos or video watched on mobile devices. Wow!

So, now they have released their list of the year’s most-viewed videos. Check out the timeline below to dive in to some of the interesting stories that played out on YouTube this year.

Super Bowl XLVI - The Greatest Automotive Ad Game on Earth..

In 6 days, 10 hours and 23 minutes the biggest U.S. sporting event of the year, Super Bowl 46, will begin.  But what does American Football have to do with cars?

Last year around 111 million people watched the event live on TV, making it the most-watched single broadcast in the history of U.S. television.  So perhaps it's no surprise that a prime-time 30 second ad spot sells for up to $3.5 million.

But you might be surprised to realise the big advertising war is fought, not between sporting goods or even soft drinks companies, instead it's the big automotive brands who will slug it out for the audience's attention this year.

Of the 35 ad spots announced thus far, 13 of them are for automotive brands, including Honda America, Acura, Audi of America, Bridgestone Americas, Cars.com, Chrysler, General Motors (Chevy & Cadillac), Hyundai, Kia Motor, Lexus, Suzuki, Toyota and Volkswagen.

And let's not forget that Super Bowl 46 is sponsored in its entirety by Chevrolet.

There's Gators In Scotland? Well, According To New Ardbeg Whisky Ad There Is

Alligators on a remote Scottish island. Just ridiculous.

Next they will be saying there is a large aquatic dinosaur living in one of the lakes in the Highlands.

But before the Scots start running for the border in terror, relax. Thankfully, it is just for a new ad campaign for Ardberg Alligator whisky.

Filmed like a mockumentary and produced by Edinburgh agency Story, the commercial tells the gripping story of how gators have roamed the island of Islay, where the distillery is based, for centuries.

It is definitely worth a watch, even if it is just for the funny facial expressions of the story teller and the fantastic animation by Th1ng.

But, let's face it, what we all want to know is why alligators?

Well, "alligator charring" is a term used in the bourbon and Scotch whisky industries to describe the method of charring the inside of the oak casks before they are filled with spirit. The burnt wood staves take on the appearance of an alligator’s scales, hence the name.

The new whisky will go on general release in September. You may have to wait a little bit longer for the gators.
