Call Of Duty Black Ops 2 Trailer Captivates The Gaming World

Activision has created quite a buzz online with the launch of its debut trailer for the much-awaited Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Set for a November release, the game is the ninth part in the Call Of Duty franchise, one of the best-selling games in history.

The trailer features an epic montage of gameplay footage, as well as a number of battle scenes taking place during the Vietnam War.

Black Ops big dog, Sgt. Frank Woods, is back and sets the scene for the game's plot with some intense narration... 'besides the fact I'm still alive - none of this surprises me.'

It's 2025 and the US has found itself under siege by its own technology, as Woods states, "technology got stronger, but we got weaker. We built computers, robots, whole unmanned armies, and no one ever asked - what happens when the enemy steals the keys?"

The spot then sees some stunning visuals, including flying drones, walking tanks, as well some surprising footage of soldiers riding on horseback, galloping through a desert.

The trailer ends with the line 'The Future Is Black' - and confirms the release date as November 13, 2012.

However, it faces tough competition, with Halo 4 due out around the same time.

Nevertheless, it seems shoot-em-up fans are pretty excited about Black Ops 2, the new spot has already received over 16 million views online and 122,000 shares.

With Battlefield 3 already released, and Modern Warfare 3 hot on their heels with its release today, the holiday season could be looking an anti-social one for game-a-holics out there.

Mountain Dew Team Up With Modern Warfare 3 For Latest XP Promotion Ad

Who would have thought that drinking a soft drink could make you better at a computer game.

Well, sadly, it doesn't. However, to tie in with the upcoming release of the most high-anticipated game of the year, Activision has teamed up Mountain Dew to offer Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 gamers in the US double XP ranking points. 

To coincide with the launch, they have even released a video which sees a host of Call of Duty marines rush into a convenience store to raid the Mountain Dew fridge for the points. 

Now, for those who don't have a clue what double XP points are, it stands for double experience time, which in layman's terms means improving your gaming ranking. And you are going to need it. The latest game in the COD franchise, which is released next week, is serious stuff.

According to Activision, former-military advisors contributed to the development of this Call of Duty collaboration to maintain the integrity and authenticity of real military operations. 

So, before you get yourselves into a 3-day COD bender, be sure to stock up on Moutain Dew, not only to assist your mind and matter, but also to boost your ranking.

Also, before you go ram-raiding your local convenience store, please do remember, impersonating a COD agent is probably illegal in most states of America. 

Top Shared Ads Of The Week: Call Of Duty Calls The Shots

The latest trailer for the upcoming videogame Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the most popular ad of the week.

Possibly the most anticipated game of the 2011, the new all-action video, entitled ‘Redemption’, has whipped up a storm online, attracting a mammoth 193,748 shares across Facebook, Twitter and the blogosphere over the last seven days.

It’s not surprising. Call of Duty (COD) is one of the most popular games franchises of all time, while Activision has promised gamers that Modern Warfare 3 will be the ‘most epic game of all time’.

And judging by the trailer, which bucks previous MW offerings by focusing on the single player mode, they could well be right.

Characters from COD even feature in the second-placed ad for the PS3. Part of the ‘Long Live Play’ campaign, the two-minute clip, created by agency Deutsch has so far attracted over 181,000 social media shares since it was released on October 4.

Called ‘Michael’, it features some of the most popular Playstation characters of all time as they pay tribute to gamers everywhere.

Other ads to feature include Apple’s introduction to Siri, Carlsberg’s hilarious biker stunt and a French ad for Virgin Radio that is inspired by popular UK TV show, The Inbetweeners.

Modern Warfare 3 'Find Makarov' Turns Out To Be A Pretty Good Fake

No, there is no new Modern Warfare game to be released anytime soon (not at least until November) - but this video might have you fooled.

There is no doubt that Call of Duty Black Ops was a huge success, and the buzz before its launch was intense.

So it is no surprise that gamers are eagerly awaiting the release of Modern Warfare 3 - and any information about it. But be careful. 

This extremely impressive fan-made video was released a couple of weeks ago on a site called Find Makarov, and it created a storm among fans who believed it to be true.

Activision (the game developer) has since officially confirmed this is not its doing - but the hype continues on Facebook and gaming forums.
