Hungry Bulldog Gobbles Car Keys In Latest Volkswagen Ad

Everyone used that excuse at school, that the dog ate their homework. Even the kids who didn't own a dog. Well, thanks to a clever piece of technology, we may soon be able to blame the pesky pooch whenever we are late for work.
Volkswagen love using dogs in its ads, the family hound failed to feel The Force and a chorus of musical mutts sang their way to the Bark Side.
Now the German carmaker has set tails wagging again, with the latest ad for the Jetta, which stars a bloated bulldog with a craving for car keys.
His owner is having one of those mornings, searching madly for his keys, desperate to get to work on time. He's searched everywhere twice and still can't find them.
That's until he spots the bulldog, sat on the carpet looking uncomfortably full. The dog has eaten them, and a roll of the owner's eyes suggests it's not the first time.
Scooping up the hungry hound, the owner heads out to the car and...uses the dog to unlock the car. That's because the Volkswagen Jetta comes with keyless technology. The gadget the owner was searching for will unlock his Jetta, even if it is inside the dog, allowing him to drive to his plump-looking pet to the vet.
The ad, by Deutsch LA, has won over 131,700 views online and had its belly rubbed by more than 4,500 sharers.
This ad could only have worked with a well-trained dog. A cat would have nicked the keys, hidden them up a tree and spend hours happily watching its owner's futile searches.
