Super-Glued iPhone 5 Confuses The Dutch

It's such a great feeling finding some money on the floor. But imagine finding the most sought-after gadget in the world - before it has even been released in your country!

That is what these poor Dutch guys thought they had done. But no, this iPhone retailer is playing a sneaky joke on passers-by. Firstly, we see the pranksters buying super glue and subtly securing it to the pavement with their foot.

Then, the confusion begins. The first victims, some boys in hoodies, seem (quite rightly) suspicious. They tentatively touch the smartphone with a toe. Then burst out laughing as they realise they've been tricked. But a little bit of super glue doesn't stop them kicking and pulling at the phone before they give up.

People come and go as they try their luck to see if they have the magic touch. Some take their time over attempting to release it from the clutches of the pavement. Others try once, realise they've been had, then move on with a few blushes. The pedestrians then turn a bit aggressive and start stamping on it. That's a bit silly. It probably won't be much good to them now, even if they did manage to un-stick it.

At the end of the clever ad, the tricksters come and scribble 'Order @iPhone5.nl' in chalk. Ahhh. Now we see. What a clever marketing ploy.

With a share count of 18,525 and 1,140,142 views since its launch just four days ago, they really have given themselves some exposure. Let's just hope all their other iPhones come wrapped up prettily in a box, rather than permanently attached to a piece of concrete.
