The 'Truly Extraordinary' iPhone 5 Makes Its Entrance

The world has been waiting with baited breath for the release of the new iPhone 5, and after much speculation, spoofs and secrecy, (drumroll please) the real deal has finally arrived.

The ad opens with Jonathon Ive, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Industrial Design explaining the key new features of the smartphone. Packed full of gadgets, there's a larger screen, thinner handset, an 4G LTE connection, amongst other fantastic, and more complicated, updates.

Other senior vice presidents also take the stage to demonstrate and explain features such as a panoramic mode on the camera, plus a pretty incredible new update to maps, including a navigation tool.

In true Apple style, and like the product itself, the ad is clear-cut, minimalist, and smooth. You know a company has nailed their product when all they have to do in the advert is show off the product and let it sell itself. It's an often copied style that other tech companies had tried to emulate and the web's comedians have spoofed.

Since being launched on Wednesday, the ad has already generated 78,841 views, as well as 5,965 shares.

Although there has been much hype, I doubt Apple will fall short of expectation. The new release claims to be the ‘biggest thing to happen to iPhone since the iPhone’ with this thinner, lighter, faster, bigger-screened phone. Well Apple, we will soon be the judge of that…as soon as it reaches the UK.
