Google Celebrate Childhood In Nexus Ad

There doesn't seem to be much of a link between mischievous monkeys, rocket ships and cauliflower. That is unless you have childlike imagination, lots of energy and...the latest tablet.

Google have stormed into the tablet market with its Nexus range, but as it goes head-to-head with the other tech-giants the latest in the range is remembering what it's like to be the little guy. Or girl in this case.

This ad for the Nexus 7 follows the daydreams and excitements of an imaginative little girl whose creative mind finds new and fun ways to use the tablet. She reads books, makes art with vegetables, has video-call tea parties and explores the moon, all with a little help from the Google gadget.

The campaign continues to celebrate childlike curiosity and the enjoyment of discovering things. In a previous ad, father and son took their Nexus on a camping adventure, encountering dinosaurs, conquering mountains and exploring the wild, without ever leaving their back yard.

The latest ad sees the youngster's imagination sparked by a Curious George story, in which the monkey goes into space. Soon she is building rockets and using the Nexus to teach herself about space travel

It's an engaging theme that departs from the traditional format of tech ads. These ads don't give you a list of the device's features, they show them in action and challenge you to think of fun ways to use them in your own life. As the ads say, "the playground is open", and you can play any game you can think of.

Put together by Mullen, the ad has taken off quicker than a Saturn V, earning over 43,500 views in less than 24 hours. The cute style and clever use of the Nexus 7 have helped power the ad to 1,000 shares and numerous mentions in blog posts.
