US Election: Meat The Candidates - Presidential Candidates Get Jerky Portraits

America is edging ever closer to election day, and the candidates are out to win the hearts and minds of voters. This ad is out to win their stomachs.
The land of the free and the home of the brave has long been known for its love of food and the ferocity of its politics. What happens when these two combine? Jerky portraits.
Jerky portraits aren't pictures taken by a photographer with an unsteady hand, they're meaty collages made of salty, chewy dried beef.
Jerky brand Jack Links commissioned artist Jason Mercier to produce food friezes of the two presidential candidates, Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. And after 100 hours of snipping, slicing, snacking and gluing, the finished pictures are actually pretty good.
Mercier drones through the clip like a man in a food coma, talking about the making of Barack Obameat and Meat Romney. It's hypnotic to watch the "ultimeat tributes" coming together, though not much else happens in the ad...it could use beefing up.
The clip has garnered over 2,000 views in two days and captured the imagination of bloggers and journalists. The clip has earned itself an article on Huffington Post with the headline "Hail To The Beef".
With the world eagerly watching the race to the White House, we're sure this clip will give viewers something to chew the fat about.
