After signing a deal with the batteries brand earlier this year, Jay Z has made his first cameo in Duracell's latest campaign for the Powermat JV.
The black and white ad is partly recorded at Jay Z's New York club, 40/40, which is the first venue to feature the wireless hotspots, which keep your phone charged while you are on the go.
A guy goes about his day in the city, keeping his phone charged with 24 hour power, and eventually stops off in 40/40, where he has a run-in with the Watch the Throne superstar.
Both using the same hotspot mat, with identical white iPhones, the customer accidentally picks up Jay Z's phone as he receives a call from B - aka as his wife and fellow superstar, Beyonce.
Knowing better than to mess with the Hov, he hands the phone over, and laughs awkwardly with his starstruck friends.
Not only is Jay Z a spokesperson for Duracell, but also an investment partner. "Duracell Powermat has recognised a real need in today's world," he said, whilst Duracell CEO Ron Rabinowitz said they chose Jay Z because he 'represents power'.
The comical ad is proving popular, attracting 72,783 views and 2,503 shares in just 24 hours.
