Dodge Uses NFL Superstar Tom Brady To Change Cars Forever

It's pretty easy to make a car advert. Just show the finished vehicle in a slow-motion, black and white clip with a rousing soundtrack and wait for the orders to roll in. But there's one new ad that does things backward.

American car maker Dodge is changing cars forever. At least that's what they claim in their new ad, which is definitely a little different. To revive their calssic Dart sedan, Dodge has decided to break all the rules of carmaking and then use the ad to brag about it.

The rapid fire guide to designing a new car uses large doses of dry humour, hot coffee and the ruthless firing of finance guys. It even manages to shoehorn in some astronauts and American football legend Tom Brady.

Out go the committees, in come the engineers. Passion overrides compromise and coffee conquers fatigue as the designers find even more ways to squeeze power out of the engine. Make it fuel-efficient, give it a bigger computer screen, keep the price down and then call in the marketing team.

The marketing team call in the critics, help the car win awards and find a celebrity endorser. Not someone wimpy or prissy. What about New England Partiots quarterback Tom Brady?

Yes, he's perfect. "I am?" he asks, "yes you are", replies the ad, now let's get back to this groundbreaking car.

The ad, by Wieden + Kennedy, has won over 45,000 views in just under a week. Winning over car and Brady fans alike, the clip has earned nearly 3,000 shares and has been featured in articles and blogs across the web.

Brady may not be convinced that he's perfect for this car. But his short, sharp cameo helps make this ad hilarious.
