Old Sam Tells Fishy Tales In Interactive John West Ad

Meet Old Sam. A fisherman who has seen the world and the spokes-trawlerman of the latest John West ad. He's also totally insane.

The interactive ad involves the salty sea dog giving you a tour around his boat. Of course, it's much more entertaining because he seems to be suffering from cabin fever.

As you tour the vessel you can click on various trinkets around Sam, who spins fantastic yarns about his accordion, his affection for some bird mess on the window and how his exercise regime involves an inflatable love doll.

There's the net that reminds him of Annette, who's Annette? Ask Sam, he'll have a total meltdown trying to explain the Annette net. He proudly displays his Colombian dancing snail and invites you into his private area.

As he explains, things get a little crowded and lonely when you are stuck on a boat with eight other men. So when he invites you into his "own little" space, it's enough to make you seasick.

Luckily, Sam doesn't have anything fishy in mind, the door leads to a picture ad for John West Salmon. Sam then breathes in the fresh air of the wild Alaskan great outdoors.

The anarchic ad, by JWT, is hilarious thanks to Old Sam and his mad antics, it keeps viewers clicking on new items just to see what else he'll come out with. The interactive ad is cleverly built into the YouTube page, and an invitation video has scored nearly 58,000 views in just 6 days.

While Sam may have lost his marbles overboard, John West have reeled in the catch of the day with this hilarious ad.
