New Pro-Obama Ad Featuring Lena Dunham Is Riddled With Innuendos

What was your first time like? Was is with someone you really trusted? Did they really care? Of course, I'm talking about voting here. Why...what were you thinking?

In a new political ad endorsing Barack Obama, actress Lena Dunham uses innuendos to describe her first time voting. The ad, which is clearly targeting young women, has raised eyebrows in the political world, as Dunham basically likens her first time voting to losing her virginity.

The Girls creator and actress speaks directly to the camera in 'My First Time', as if she was speaking to a girlfriend. It is questionable as to whether this is a PSA on safe sex or not for the first 10 seconds or so, as Dunham insists that your first time shouldn't be with "just anybody", but with a "with a great guy".

Doubts are cleared up when Dunham suggests your first time should be with someone who "brought the troops out of Iraq". Although, I'm sure that would go down quite well in any case.

The suggestive ad has certainly caught the media's attention and has most probably had the desired effect of spreading the message among young women about the importance of voting. Although, perhaps this is for the wrong reasons. Conservatives have gone mad, claiming that it is "tasteless" and "inappropriate"

After being released four days ago, the ad has been viewed almost 2 million times, and has shot up to 4th place in the 7 day Viral Video Ad Chart and is sure to carry on climbing this week, as we rapidly approach the elections.
