TomTom Does The 'Android' Robot

Wouldn't it be fun if every day in the office you had dance-offs? Now, I'm no dancer myself, but the 'robot' looks fairly simple to muster.

This is apparently what they do at TomTom HQ. Ok, well maybe not every day. Maybe only when they are celebrating the partnership of TomTom and Android. What's the link? The Android logo is a robot.

The two brands have united to form the TomTom Android App, where you can use TomTom's navigation services on Android devices. You can even get a clip to attach your phone to your windscreen and use it like the original TomTom. Genius.

The ad starts off with normal office scenes - people in meetings, giving presentations or at their computer screens. Slowly, one-by-one, employees start moving robotically to the sounds of the office, such as the phone ringing or machines beeping. In the end, every single office worker is breaking out the moves to an electronic dance song.

The TomTom employees are surprisingly skilled in this area, and if anything ever goes wrong at TomTom, I'm sure they'll have a career in dance set out for them. The ad is energetic and amusing, and has racked up 303,648 views and 2,865 shares in the last 6 days.

The app couldn't come at a better time. Just when all the iPhone users have been wandering around lost, not knowing which way to go due to the faulty Maps app, all they need do now is find a friend with an Android.
