Hello Again Ladies: Old Spice Guy Is Back. But Will It Stink This Time?

Hooray! The Old Spice Guy is back. Yep, everyone's favourite shirtless deodorant and bodywash salesman has far from thrown in the towel in his battle against mansmells by announcing a series of new ads.

In his latest video, a barely-clad Isaiah Mustafa says he has returned "to inform the people on this crazy blue marble that we call Earth how they or their man can use Old Spice to smell as fresh as the freshest smelling places on Earth".

The first of three new commercials will begin on February 7 - the day after the SuperBowl - and if they are anything as funny as this video, we should be in for some more treats.

To keep the buzz going for the YouTube hit, one lucky super-fan will even get the chance to stream the first ad exclusively on their social networking page or feeds sometime before Super Bowl Sunday.

All sounds pretty smart to us, but can they possible duplicate the success of the original campaign, which, according to Proctor & Gamble, prompted a double digit rise in sales?

Well, according to Wieden+Kennedy's Eric Kallman, who created the ad with Craig Allen, that is going to be tough.

Speaking to MSNBC, he said: "Inherently, there's pressure when something has a lot of success and then you're trying to follow it up."

So what do we know about the new ads? Well, as we have already seen a shot of our hero in a grass skirt on a tropical beach and the fact brand manager James Moorhead has described Old Spice's new range as like a 'scent vacation', we can expect the topical to get tropical.

Well, we can't wait!!
